I paid a few hundred dollars for 2 copies of Windows 8 and I find myself clicking and re-attempting actions to often. Like the IE in task bar gets overlaid by the start menu and when I move my mouse over to the edge of the screen my cursor goes to my other monitor and I either click on IE by accident or have to re-attempt the start menu. It's not a know how thing here, It's just a big hassle.
I find myself clicking more often and having to go to the charm bar and start menu to execute items more then need be. This is a huge problem for me. I don't have the patience for this OS. Also, It's kind of a cool new toy to begin with that quickly becomes annoying. Can I get a refund for 2 copies of Windows 7 instead of this Windows 8 or can Microsoft do an update to get rid of this start menu toggle. Or maybe have the ability to move the start menu toggle to any part of the screen as an Icon so it doesn't interfere with my other monitors being on the corner edge as it is.

Full screen programs are a waste of my desktop, I am not on a laptop. I need 10 programs open at any given time. I don't want to hack up Windows 8. I never ever ever ever did I say ever want to see metro except on my phone. Its unproductive, hard to get any work done in this thing I keep trying to use Win 8.
Its just very bad on the desktop if you are trying to work. This is the 1st OS from Microsoft I have not been all in on from the 1st beta. Maybe Windows 9 will get back to a real OS instead of a toy. Maybe its just time for a hackintosh? Upon the imminent demise of my old notebook, I raced out to purchase a new ultrabook, which was running Windows 8 and now 8. While this version of Windows OS provides developers some advantages in developing code that crosses multiple platforms, it is absolutely an impediment to my productivity on my ultrabook.

The Windows 8. Even the display by name still involves grouping of various programs under a hierarchy that requires additional learning. Once complete, the w8smt. You will then see a box with a Use Classic Start Menu button and little else displayed. Simply click this to disable Metro and enjoy Windows 8 in the classic manner!
Whether you agree with the implication of the Metro UI on desktop and laptop computers or not, it cannot be denied that this particular registry hack is likely to turn out very useful to a lot of people unless Microsoft acts and adds its own Metro toggle switch into Windows 8. Of course, this is unlikely to happen as it will completely undermine the Metro UI!

The first and most unavoidable time you'll see Metro in a given Windows 8 session is upon start-up.
