Upset, he goes a vampire hotel to see if he's going to become a vampire. The short answer: yes. The long answer: the vampires kill him; he has to be buried and reborn. This happens, and Simon is now a vampire. He gets into a fight with Maia, who now hates him because he's a vampire and werewolves hate vampires.
Clary tries to explain to her how racist this is. Caution is advised! Vampire abilities. Encanto : Simon has the vampire ability to mesmerize or hypnotize mundanes , and even animals. Heightened senses : After his Turning, his vision improved and he no longer needed glasses.

Also, Climon are still a couple when Clary and Jace find out that they aren't siblings, and Clary and Jace already know that they aren't siblings during the Seelie Court Kiss.
Most importantly, I think, is the fact that the show has crossed the line and made Climon's relationship physical, more than just kissing.
Clary chooses to date Simon, in the books, I think because he is the only constant in her life at that point in the books, and she wants to keep him there. By making Simon a Vampire so soon in the show they have taken away that consistency in her life. Even though as a Vampire Simon is still ultimately Simon he has changed, just as Clary has when she found out about her Shadowhunter heritage. Becoming a Vampire, or Shadowhunter, would make it impossible for them to not change. And that changes why Clary chooses to date Simon.
Then Clary is still with Simon when she and Jace learn that they aren't actually siblings. And this has to change the way Simon reacts to Clary's feelings for Jace. Because Simon knows that they aren't siblings when Clary kisses Jace in the Seelie Court what he is seeing is Clary being in love with another man while she's dating him. In the books, because everyone honestly believes they are siblings the kiss has different connotations.
When Simon sees Clary kiss her brother he realizes that Clary still has, even if unwanted, feelings for Jace. I think the show made the Seelie Court Kiss more devastating for Simon than I think it ended up being in the books because of this difference. One last thing, and I know I'm not alone in my thinking. The show made Climon's relationship more physical than not only it should have been but more than I think Clary would have allowed. The writers wanted to push their relationship, and boundaries, but I think they went too far.
But also because Clary even when she was dating Simon never actually felt that way about Simon, and would never have let the relationship get to the point were they couldn't go back, and the show took it past that point.
Show tangent over, let's get back to the discussion. I wanted to talk about why I think Climon is important. A lot of people think it never should never even happened, and I respect their opinions. While I don't ship Climon, and never will, it had to happen. When we first meet Simon he is quite honestly in love with Clary. To him it is not just a crush, he believes his feelings to be real and honest. Without the relationship that is Climon I don't think Simon would have been able to get over those feelings for Clary.
If Simon wasn't able to move on from Clary two very important things would have been unable to happen. The first is I don't think Simon would have been able to open himself up to an honest and loving relationship with Izzy. That means no Sizzy. How sad would that be. I think Simon and Isabelle are just the cutest together. Isabelle is strong and confidant when it comes to being a Shadowhunter and it contrasts well with Simon as he learns to become one. Also, Simon is the only one in all his awkward fumbling to break through the tough exterior that Izzy has erected to find the vulnerable young woman that she really is.
Another thing that never would have happened was Climon as Parabatai. Why did shadowhunters get Cancelled? What book does Clary and Jace sleep together?
