Why does phyllis hate her father

Phyllis does most things with love. She has a big heart and treats those around her with respect as long as they treat her with the same respect.

However, her efforts are overlooked. Michael got so mad at her homemade oven mitts during a Secret Santa that he changed the game to Yankee Swap so he could get rid of them. Her efforts as a member of the party planning committe e were also overlooked and criticized by both Michael and Angela. Just as Toby's bully is Michael, Phyllis's bully is Angela. To be fair to Phyllis, Angela isn't nice to many people and treats everyone with the same disdain.

However, due to their relationship in the party planning committee , Angela is especially hard on Phyllis. She hates all of Phyllis's suggestions and gets mad when Phyllis misinterprets her original meaning.

It's sad because Phyllis does everything out of the goodness of her heart and didn't deserve that kind of heat. The Office fans are obsessed with Pam and Jim but it's Phyllis and Bob Vance who deserve the gold medal for best couple. Bob is obsessed with Phyllis and treats her like a queen.

The two keep things "spicy" and aren't shy of public affection. And as confident as Phyllis was in her relationship with Bob, she did question it when she saw Bob's new secretary. His secretary was essentially a younger version of Phyllis, and Phyllis recognized that immediately.

Thankfully by the end of the episode, Phyllis knew Bob would never hurt her but it was sad to see her second-guess herself. When Phyllis helps Michael plan Toby's going away party, she calls a number looking for an antigravity machine classic Michael. But when the woman on the other line didn't know what an antigravity machine was, she offered Phyllis antidepressants.

Instead of hanging up or calling another number, Phyllis agreed to the number for antidepressants. Does this mean poor Phyllis Vance suffered from depression? In the episode "Basketball," a fun game of basketball is played between the office workers and the warehouse staff. When Michael was picking his dream team, Phyllis volunteered to play because she loved basketball. In a deleted scene in the episode " Business Ethics ", Phyllis says in an interview that her husband ran over somebody in a soccer uniform with his car, and they didn't tell the police, also tipping somebody in the Air Force not to talk about the incident.

Phyllis is Head of the Party Planning Committee. She black mails Angela, although she claims that she just tells Angela what to do, and Angela does it for fear of Phyllis telling Andy about her cheating on him. Phyllis treats Angela the same way Angela treated Phyllis before, if not worse. She ends up telling the whole office that Angela is cheating on Andy with Dwight in the episode " Moroccan Christmas ". Angela is thrown out of the party planning committee but Andy and Dwight duel over her and then both break up with Angela.

Phyllis is then thrown out of the party planning committee. Her relationship with her husband Bob is strange for on Valentine's Day during a lunch with Jim and Pam, they disappear for a long time and later are "exhausted" after a trip to the bathroom.

Phyllis's love life is still intact. Dwight cures her using horse massages, and Phyllis says that Bob Vance might be cheating on her with his secretary which she laughs off after having said it out loud. During Season 6 Phyllis seems angry that Jim got the job over her and everyone else. In the episode, " The Promotion ", she yells at Jim for using beans to determine whether someone will get a raise. Phyllis gives Pam a birdhouse. In the episode, " Niagara ", she comes to Jim and Pam's wedding.

In the episode, " Mafia ", she agrees that Grotti may be in the mafia. In the episode, " The Lover ", she tells Michael that he hopes he finds happiness.

In the episode " Murder " she is Beatrix Bourbon, a rich woman from Savannah, and she gets into the game. She is angered when Michael reveals her to be the killer. She gets very emotional when she talks about the long journey into becoming Santa. She threatens to get Bob Vance to stop Michael, however, she says that she isn't going to later.

She continues to be Santa, and she hands out the presents during the office Secret Santa game. She promises Andy that she will not tell Erin that he was her Secret Santa.

Later on, Michael apologizes to her and she accepts. In " Manager and Salesman ", Phyllis takes allergy medicines that cause her to fart at work. However, Michael does not know about this adding another reason to why he wants to go back to being a manager. She is labeled as 'Small Business Expert'. Later in the episode Phyllis, Stanley, and Dwight try to get back in the seminar because they see it's going great, but Andy doesn't let them.

Throughout the episode Phyllis is giving looks to Kevin who is running around in the conference room, also Dwight devises a plan in her ear, but Phyllis doesn't really seem to care about it, since she doesn't say anything in return. She's one of the 'prisoners' that is in the basement. She really doesn't have any lines, but she's nervous. But she's acting in the movie he made. They all start bickering, and Phyllis pipes in that if she's buying new computers for everyone, she'd like one too.

Andy gets mad at Phyllis and yells at her, telling her to shut up. After Andy yells at her she pipes down, and seems kind of upset. Ryan claims that Phyllis gives a "mother" look or vibe to him, so she was perfect for the labels. Plus his mother didn't want herself on the labels as well. After worrying about her father and thinking of going to see him, Holly asks Phyllis for a bit of advice. Phyllis tells her not to worry, and that she should stay calm.

Phyllis also reveals that she is selling some of her mother's things at her station, and she offered to sell some bra's to Holly which she kept under the table. Holly just thanked her and said no. Later on in the episode, Phyllis appears with a candle to so that she is happy that Michael's proposing to Holly, who says "yes. Like usual Angela is being testy with Phyllis. Also, when they are privately being filmed, they talk about how they're the leads, and then there's just Meredith.

Moments later, Michael decides to give Phyllis her goodbye gift. But, she never really speaks her mind, so he gives her a little teeth-clatter thing, she seems appreciative. Also, Phyllis shows Michael that she's knitting him a goodbye present, mittens to keep him warm in Colorado. She explains all these "washing" rules so they don't get ruined, and Michael just goes along with it.

At another meeting, Meredith reveals that they should buy erotic cakes, Phyllis says that she might want an erotic cake, since she purchases them all the time, and that it'd be cool. Then they start talking about cupcakes. Later, while she's on the phone making a sale, Michael hangs up the phone, since he's leaving soon, and he wants her to finish the mittens before he leaves.

In the end Phyllis is almost finished, but Michael takes them since he's leaving. In " The List ", Phyllis is seen in the beginning of the episode working at her desk like usual, but when the suspicion, when Robert California comes to see what the commotion is, she falls out of her chair purposely so she can create a distraction so they can make a photo copy of 'the list'.

Also, later on they find that the list is 'cool' vs. In " Angry Andy ", Phyllis admits that she never had an orgasm until she was 42, and when she did, it lasted until she was In " Lice ", Phyllis teams up with Nellie and Kevin to convince Darryl 's girlfriend Val not to break up with him, even though that was what he wanted all along, which causes Darryl to be annoyed at them.

In " The Target ", Phyllis and Stanley agree to cover Jim's duties while he spends part of each week working in Philadelphia. They do so only after Jim takes them out to an expensive lunch where Phyllis gets drunk. In " The Farm ", Phyllis is one of the office staff members who suffers from having eaten Todd Packer 's drug-laden cupcakes.

Louis to have a relationship with her. Phyllis is bothering the Finer Things Club by loudly microwaving popcorn. When they ask her why she can't use the microwave in the kitchen, she says she's waiting for someone to clean it because it's messy and smells like popcorn.

She's the one who made it smell that way in the first place! So lazy, rude, inconsiderate, and annoying! Phyllis calls Michael's "Sale-a-bration" the dumbest thing she's ever heard. Again, an incredibly insubordinate, rude, and unnecessary comment. Yet here we are, and that's why we're making this list! Open your eyes, people! After Angela shreds the names of all the vendors she gathered during her time in charge of the party planning committee, Phyllis purposely knocks Angela's files onto the floor.

Honestly, I don't blame Angela for shredding the names. She worked really hard to acquire those contacts! Why should she just hand over all her hard work to Phyllis who not only treats her like shit but is the very reason Angela's no longer the head of the committee in the first place!

The office is trying to win a weight-loss competition, but Phyllis decides to bring in cake for everyone to eat on Stanley's birthday. He didn't even want to eat the cake himself! She did this even though Michael specifically asked her not to. And yet, she went ahead and did it anyways. To what end, Phyllis?! She makes Angela jump through hoops with that smug little face on her face the entire time. But it only gets worse.

At the end of this episode, she ends up telling everyone that Dwight and Angela are sleeping together anyways! All because Angela stood up for herself and refused to be Phyllis's puppet for one more minute. After the whole debacle at the Christmas Party, Jim and Dwight are put in charge of planning parties, and Phyllis purposely doesn't tell them about Kelly's birthday. Poor Kelly. She got all dressed up and everything. If Phyllis was an actual decent person, she would have told them so Kelly could have had a nice birthday.

Instead, Phyll was petty and sacrificed Kelly's happiness for her own ugly revenge. The food arrives, but they're still missing. Jim and Pam are hungry but want to be polite so they wait for them to start eating. They don't return, so Jim and Pam think they might've been ditched. They decide to search the restaurant and discover that Phyll and Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, are having sex in a public bathroom. Super gross. Super rude. Surprise, surprise! Phyllis is upset that she's not included in planning Michael's anniversary party so she tells Charles Miner about the amount of time that's wasted on planning office parties.

She knew damn well that snitching would end any and all parties — including Michael's! Don't you know that snitches get stitches, Phyllis? Phyllis is by far the worst of the worst, especially to Pam. She's super aggresive towards Pam and even goes so far as to call her a secretary when she knows that's not her job anymore.

Phyllis, Pam has established herself as a salesperson. She took a leap and went for what she wanted, and she got it! But you know, it's OK to belittle a co-worker if they're pretty, right?

After announcing her pregnancy, Pam asks Phyllis if she could please wear a less pungent perfume because it's making her physically sick.

And Pam's not being overly sensitive here — we already know Phyliis wears too much from Karen's comment earlier in the series. Of course, Phyllis has to complain about the request. She'd much rather make Pam vomit than have to change up her smell for a couple months. At Jim and Pam's wedding, Phyllis's hat is 1 ugly and 2 so big that it keeps hitting Stanley in the face.

When he says something to her about it, she mentions how his ex-wife used to love the hat with Stanley's new girlfriend standing right there! And then, she tells Erin that Pam wouldn't be a good wife Phyllis takes a two-hour lunch without asking Jim who's recently been promoted to co-manager.

Not only does she take too much time; she comes back drunk, too! When Jim asks her about it, she shows him zero respect and tells him that he doesn't have any authority. SO insubordinate and SO uncalled for. Jim graciously allows Phyllis to live out her dreams of being the office Santa at the holiday party. But instead of being grateful, she threatens Jim about getting Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, "involved" after Michael comes in dressed as Santa, too.

That's not very jolly, Phyllis! Grow up! BTW, Phyllis is most definitely on the chronically naughty list. No question about it. Phyllis is more concerned about eating cake than waiting for Jim and Pam's baby to arrive. Again, her lack of respect for Pam is evident Just go home, Phyllis!

No one asked you to be there. Eat your cake somewhere else, why don't you? Yet again, Phyllis displays a complete lack of respect for Michael and is insubordinate AF. How has she not been fired yet? She brags about how she purposely wears low-cut shirts so men will flirt with her in hopes that Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, will beat them up.

Real mature And she's so proud of herself, too. Just look at that face. She tells Andy that he deserved having his bag shoved in the ceiling tiles because he snitched about the Sabre printers setting on fire. Wow, so Andy is concerned about the safety of his customers and she reacts like this? What if you had one at home that caught fire, Phyllis?

She disrespects Michael once again by calling him stupid. Well, Phyllis. At least Michael is a decent person who genuinely cares for a lot of people Toby excluded , unlike you. She wants to try seducing Danny Cordray to figure out his sales tactics. Are you serious, Phyllis? Coming from the woman who's slut-shammed Pam, Angela, and probably Meredith in the past?

You've got to be kidding me.
